Subject: For Sale-86' Syncro-$2900.00. I'm greedy?

You may have noticed that I posted a message about this thing Saturday. I ended up buying it. I now have it for sell. I'm trying not to be greedy, but I'm asking $2900.00 for it as it is. If the engine ends up being bad, I'll do a major drop in price. I am sure it's worth more if the engine is in great shape, but I don't really know about it's history. For potential convertors out there, I'd do this one in a heart beat. I am willing to negotiate/trade, etc.

So far, I have swapped the front seats and steering wheel with my 84' Westy and I plan on swapping the mirrors too. I'm eyeing the front grill/square lights and the tachometer for a swap too, but I better let it be.

I have driven this thing around town a few times and it seems to run ok. There is a slight miss when it is warm. I did have some problems keeping it running initially, but I found a cut wire and that may have been the problem. I hadn't had a problem with it since I connected it.

The rear axles lock in when I pull the knob on the dash. The tires scrub when turning with it on pavement. I don't know if the front is working or not, but it doesn't feel like my 84' Westy when turning.

The brakes and suspension are in good order. It's much nicer than my 84' as far as handling and it is quieter.

The exhaust sounds like it has a leak, but it's not obvious to me where it is. It could be that I am just used to the quiet Subaru engine in mine.

I did a lot of stop and go driving on it, to make sure that it got really warm. The fan came on at the right time and it didn't overheat. There doesn't appear to be any pressure build up in the overflow tank and no puddles on the ground yet.

Still has the fuel injection. 187,000 miles. Has AC, but compressor not hooked up / missing, but I have a good spare. Gold exterior with beige interior. Michelin MXT 205/70 R14 Fronts - 1/3 Tread Rear - Relatively new. One small chip in windshield. It doesn't look like it'll grow. One small dent on front just under windshield. No rust on body. Some minor scratches like the kind you get off of tree branches. Somebody screwed up and installed some kind of buttons on the rain gutter and each one is a tiny area of rust. There is a CB antennae installed on the gutter of the driver's side with screws.

Somebody please buy this before I try to find someway to keep it and do a conversion. I never thought I would say this, but I just can't talk my wife in to getting rid of her Mazda van and driving this Syncro instead. The body is so much nicer than mine.

I have the van in Griffin, Georgia about 45 minutes south of Atlanta.
