Subject: Paint Shop Reccomendations .... Help!

Folks,

At the point with my restoration (85 Westy) where I am getting quotes on painting.

Details:

Inside and out with minor ding removal. No other body work or rust removal needed. I will remove all the interior cabinets etc and deliver the empty shell.

Paint .... want a top notch job (good paint) with a color change.

Also want all door and window seals replaced.

Yesterday I got the first estimate .... $10,000 / not including the seals and it would take 2 months.

Still trying to recover.

I thought I should be able to do it (not counting the seals) for around $5,000 in approx. 2 weeks.

Those of you that have actually done paint as outlined above, Sanity check please.

1. Am I that far off?

2. If not ...... recommendations in the San Fran Bay Area?

3. If not if this area .... in the state of CA?

4. If not in CA then ..... bordering states?

Note .... if I'm going to paint ... I do want it to be a quality job. No $100.00 one day specials.

Cheers,

Larry Chase 85GL Westy "RoadHouse" "She may be ugly, but she's slow" Campbell ( San Fran Bay Area) CA
