I was just looking at these yesterday, as well. Search
GOOGLE for H.I.D. retrofit... seems to be some issue,
however, with the focal length of the HID bulb being
different from the Halogens,( the bulb is longer,
physically) so the light source is in the wrong spot
relative to the reflector, resulting in an
out-of-focus beam, scattering, and glare. Anyone have
any experience with these conversion bulbs? Damn, I
would LOVE to have real HIDs on the van with the SA
grill:)
AdvanceImports.com is offering a kit for $500.
Available for the 900X series bulbs as well as H4s, so
any Vanagon could have these. You loose your high
beams, though. No provision at all for twin beam
lights, so you'd need either the later rectangular
setup or the SA GTi type dual light grill.
