I put two bookshelf speakers behind the back seat. The sound is very good--mucho bass--and I don't have to worry about them flying around in case of an accident. The wires run under the back seat where I have installed clip type speaker connections. The wires are long enough to set the speakers anywhere I want them--out the door if I like. I had to run new wires because I had the common ground set-up. East to run wires underneath the van and come up ti the rear heater core box. The speaker connections are screwed onto the top of the wood heater box under the seat.

I'm thinking of replacing the rear speakers (now that I've removed the A/C) with speakers in self contained housings that will allow me to stick them outside (probably with magnets) for campsite ambiance. So I'm wondering about power considerations, i.e., how large of a speaker can I operate?

Thanks, Brian Doss '88 Weekender, Queequeg
