Those of you using a program like Lotus Notes or Outlook; drag this message to your calendar, and set it on some date in August or September of 2004, when it will seem that complaining about "$1.19 fuel" is almost unbelievable.

Events in the Middle East, Bush's self-styled "War", combined with OPEC's tenuous grip on supply, and Russia's increasing dominance of production are all like a big zit, getting ready to pop. Many things across this land rely on $1.19 fuel, and will cease to exist when fuel tops $2.50 or $3.50 a gallon.

Fast Fact: USA has only 2% of the world's oil reserves (including the paltry puddle up in ANWR).

$.99 carrots from Peru, $18 sneakers from China, four-for-a-dollar light bulbs from Taiwan are all brought to you by dirt-cheap fuel.

Wal*Mart (and every retailer built on a distributed logistics/Big Box model) will find their model doesn't work anymore when it costs more to TRANSPORT the cheap TV from Mexico to Cincinnati than it costs for them to buy it.

Hold on to your hats, and enjoy the end of the 100-year-long "Cheap Fuel" party.
