You want to Lilley-ize the engine but you do not want to by a new piston cylinder set? Boring 1mm oversize will make some knocking noises without a matched 1mm oversize piston. I've used the Brazilian sets, cost should be around $300 for the 4 of them. German sets about $100-150 more. I also like to use a "Total Seal" second ring. 2-piece gapless design almost eliminates blow by.

Has anyone bored a WBX cylinder to oversize?

I have a basket case engine - (my first engine which melted a hole in a piston and scored the cylinder barrel) - and would like to begin a rebuild.

I have three good cylinder barrels and would like to get a fourth --- IF I cna find a good used one that is in tolerance. I would like to bore them about 1mm oversize. Anyone have any ideas about what problems with piston size and rings mating that might occur. Any recommendations? This would be the beginning step for me to Lilley-ize an engine (where does the royalty fee go?) -[;<)>

Thanks for the input.
