Well finally got the temp II sensor replaced and radiator has been bleed. Runs real nice and i am getting 18 mpg in town.

New problem. Vans at normal operating temp. I shut it off and restart the van will idle till i am under load will hesitate ,loss of power, slight backfire. I shut it off and immediately restart runs great no problems This all happens under 35-40 mph I am affraid to try to get it going any faster. Any ideas ? I have checked fuel,pressure,regulator ,timing , plugs , electrical o.k.fuel pump , o/2 sensor

I have a 86GL automatic a.c. original engine and trans with 196,000 miles
