If you haven't got a full set of Micrometers, Dial Gauges, Bore Gauges, an Align Boring machine, a bead blaster and know how to read the Metric Gauges you're not saving $1000.00 you're throwing away $2000.00. It could take you 30 to 45 days to get the right parts together to reassemble your engine. All parts are not created equal. The expertice to rebuild a Waser Boxer is way above my head and the capabilities of most bulk rebuilders. You chances of getting a reboched engine from bulk rebuilders or local Joe repair is very good. Get yourself a quality rebuilt from a quality rebuilder and go camping.
