You could save yourself the effort of removing cabinets and replacing hoses by using a bit o' bleach now and then. When I first got the Westy, I would fill the fresh water tank using a hose with an attached a taste/odor filter that removed chlorine from the water only to discover what a mistake it was! My tank got an icky case of algae pretty damn quickly. Now I sanitize once a year and religiously drain the tank after every trip...no more problems with scummy water. We use a Brita pitcher to filter for odor and taste.
