This was the course strongly recommended to me by the gent who filled my tank yesterday. I've been having increasing difficulty in getting the tank filled, and when I asked specifically about rebuilding/replacing the current fill valve or replace it with the manual type, there was no hesitation in his answer. This wasn't the typical propane monkey, by the way, but one of the folks who work at Suburban Propane. He was able to get the tank filled with a little persistence.

This also follows the general comments from other "attendants" who have tried to fill this tank in the past. When I query them about the current valve vs. a manual one, they all claimed to have knowledge on "open the bleeder, fill till it squirts, close everything." Seems pretty simple..

If things are *not* working right, general best course is to replace AutoStop valve with manual 1 3/4" Acme fill valve and manual bleed valve. Under $50 total.
