Just make sure that if your tank is truly "empty" or has been very low on propane, that you have a vacuum pulled on the tank.

All you want in that tank is Propane... if you start off with 4 gallons of air in there, it will take MANY re-filllings (if ever) to burn all the air out... your fridge will work poorly, your stove flame will be irregular.

Steve, The key to a good fill is with an empty tank ask the filler to put in 2 gallons slowly, about two to three minutes. Find someone you can work with and help him by offering to count down from the two gallons and tip him afterwards. The uhaul people are not a bad choice. gary Date: Wed, 20 Mar 2002 19:49:58 -0600 From: Stan Wilder <wilden1@JUNO.COM> Subject: Re: Need help with propane filling! Can the fill valve stick?

I've had my tank filled in Arkansas, Louisiana, City of Dallas and various lakes around Texas and I've never had any problems. The attendants loosen the bleeder and fill the tank slowly, it just fills and tops off without any problems.
