OK... has to be the Hamakua Coast on the eastern side of the Big Island of Hawaii... huge gulches, waterfalls, ocean vistas... and a variety of landscape that looks like llittle pieces of all fifty states... amazing!

Definitely from Hilo up the Hamakua Coast, through Waimea (Kamuela) to South Kohala and to any one of a number of white sand beaches on the west side of the island.

Kiholo Bay is my favorite to camp... Makalawena is my favorite to visit. Access is a bit difficult... syncro is most helpful. Also theWaipio Valley near Honoka`a... very majestic and syncro is a must there.

well... Naung Mai Thai Kitchen in Hilo... best yellow vegetable curry in the state.
