Subject: 91 Westy Purchase, Again
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii

Hi All,

Thanks for all of your feedback on my questions about buying a 91 Westy.

Today, i was still on the fence, so I ordered a Carfax vehicle report on it, using its VIN.

It answers a lot of questions some of you asked: like how could an engine be in such bad shape after only 89,000 miles (the mechanic that looked at it actually told me it was bad without running a compression test--just by looking at it).

Well. The total number of miles currently on the odometer is a little inaccurate.

A title was issued for it in 06/18/01, when the current owner bought it in Everett, WA (I live in Gig Harbor, WA). No milage is provided on the report, as "Title or resgistration issued is exempt from odometer reporting."

The previous title was issued in 10/07/1999 in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Odometer reading: 154,675 MILES!!!

All I can say (along with the Seattle Mariners Baseball announcer) is: MY OH MY!!!!!

Dale
