This should only be a problem if you use something other than the X6024 kit, i.e. if you put those HID bulbs into your rectangular lights.  The HID portion (low beam) of the 7" lamps are a sealed beam-type unit - the whole thing is the light, no filament, so it should be perfectly focused.  And since the included H3 high beam is also designed as part of the unit, the 7" kit should work perfectly in a Vanagon, light-wise.  Just a matter of finding a place to mount the ballast resistors and route the wiring.  I'd love to try these.
