I have always done this while on long road trips. Primarily because my wiring is goofy (I need to fix it) and the aux battery gets drained if I run it off 12v. I shut it off during refueling and then restart it after pulling away from the pumps. In 1000's of miles of driving like this, I have never had the fridge blow out, or anything else unusual happen. Maybe I am just lucky... Brent Christensen '89 GL Syncro Westy Santa Barbara, CA
