Geting back to vanagon stuff..... I lost the message asking about how much acceleration to expect from an air cooled engine. I timed my van this AM, and after the tire was done smoking, and finally hooked up to the asphalt, I was able to go from 0 to 60 in just under 30 secs. I was surprised at this, because I never thought much about it, and seldom ever 'stand on it' in the first place. When you drive a slow vehicle, you just learn to actually drive, and pay attention to when you need to start accelerating, because there is nothing to spare if you make an error in judgement :) I also noted that from I got to 50 pretty quick, but those last 10mph seemed to take forever. I hope whomever posted the original comment is able to find his problem. 60 seconds seems like too long a time to me. If its not on the intake side, maybe the cat is plugging up?
