If you know the mass, or duplicate your previous mass, you can calculate true horsepower. Your numbers will be good to 1 to 5% (absolute) depending how careful you are, so an error in mass of 1% would not be too significant. So reproduce the van loading by +/- 20 pounds. In other words don't do the pre-lilley run with a buddy in the passenger seat, and the post-Lilley run with ego as your only companion. BTW, in the LA area a set of 3 dyno runs can be had for as little as $50 (with a VW club dyno day). Frank Grunthaner |
