Hi folks, I did the following test on the Temp 2 sender: With engine off and cold, resistance across the sender was approx. 5k ohms. This was the same checked at the Digifant multi-pin connector. I disconnected the wires at the sender, attached the ohm meter and started the engine. Over the next five minutes or so, resistance dropped steadily as the engine warmed up. Probably because the sender wasn't connected, the idle never ramped down, sticking steady at 2k. I turned the engine off when it reached 600 ohms. Even with out having any temperature readings, can I figure that the Temp 2 sender is behaving properly? Starting it later with the sender connected, the idle ramped down to norm after warming up, so the ECU must be doing something with the information. Of course, doing a test doesn't change how it runs. I had a look at the Hall sender- voltage supply is fine, and I patched a frayed wire going the the center contact. One more test to do on that section, but will need a helper. (thanks for the tip, al jordans). I want to check the fuel pressure regulator as well. Is there any test possible without a pressure gauge? I'm starting to love the Bentley, but get a little annoyed with VW proprietary tools. Also, does anyone have test methods for the temp 1 sender that goes to the dash? Its down the line a little, but I'll want to know how hot it is when I get the mixture right. Thanks for the clues.
