Hi Volks:

My recent problems, described in a series of pleading emails, have been solved.

By a bottle of gas-line antifreeze worth about 97 cents.

For the edification of those that have forgotten the symptoms, here they are (were) again:

* incredible bucking; not remedied by re-starting * stalling, then occasional no-start

To fix this, I replaced (and I'm glad I did, anyways)

rotor, cap, plug wires - but it was the bottle of methanol that fixed it for me.

Now, regarding the plug wires - mine were prolly original, (18 YO) and virtually fell off of the plugs.

So, if you are concerned about performance/fuel economy, one thing you could do is change your old plug wires - and get better/stronger spark.

The only thing regarding the installation of the plug wires that was difficult - was that I had to do the change unsheltered in -30C weather, with a strong wind blowing, at 9:00 PM in the dark (had a work light).

Like I told Terry K, now I need to find replacement OEM fingers, ears and toes.

I think all Winnipeggers, except for the garages and tow-truck drivers - are praying for spring weather. It's just like January here.
