The play is probably due to a wear on the pin and the corresponding hole in the pedal assembly, especially if it has been squeaking for a while. Getting to it requires the removal of the fascia (dashboard) and the pedal assembly. It is possible to remove the pedal assembly without disconnecting any hydraulic lines. I could have also bought a new clutch pedal and pin from the dealer or had the elongated hole in the pedal welded and re-drilled.

Just had the clutch master cylinder replaced and the mechanic said there was about a 1/2 inch play in the rod that comes out of the master cylinder and connects to the clutch pedal (which I have verified). The bently calls for .5mm max. and to adjust it with the Clevis. It also says to access this by removing the instrument panel. I've tried to access by removing the instrument panel, the fuse/relay panel, and steering wheel cover, but I still could not figure out how to get to it to make the adjustment.

My questions are how serious is the 1/2 play in the rod? And, just how does one get to the Clevis to make the adjustment and take a look at the pin to see what kind of shape it is in?
