#1. Any good brand of timing light will work. I'd say to just rent one the first time. I've got an old Snap On about 35 years old. Works good. I've also got a box full of broken timing lights with varoius problems, good brands to. #2. Just take the axles to an auto parts store that has a press or do it like I do, just drive up in front of a few repair shops and if the mechanics are sitting around with nothing to do, make a deal. $10.00 is a good price for off and back on for two if your just replacing boots.
