Hi,

Let me toss in another recommendation. I used to use the Hakkas years ago as a snow/mud tire when I rallied my GTI. The last year we rallied, we got a set of Bridgestone Blizzaks from the local tire dealer. They are far superior to the Hakkas. IMHO. The Blizzaks are great in both snow and ice. They have a rubber compound which give traction similar to having studded snows. We run them all the way around on both on the 84 Vanagon as well as my 98 New Beetle.

Ric
