On the contrary a whole house water filter DOES filter out chlorine. I have a chlorine test kit and the water after the filter is void of chlorine.

But thanks for the tips. I have already disinfected the tank but did not want to leave water in there without at least a little bit of chlorine to minimize algae growth.
