This is great information and something all Tiico owners should be
aware of.

I have a Tiico as well and didn't like the look of the fuel block-off
plug.  I did use it though and will be swapping it now that I've heard
these stories from you.

Here's something I did some research on with the Tiico as well:

I don't know if you remember or not but about 4 to 6 months ago there
was a syncro westy f.s. on eBay that had had an engine fire.  It was a
Tiico.  I (as a Tiico customer) was shocked when I saw this and asked
Peter about it.  He said it had the fuel supply nipple at the firewall
crack and this caused the leak that caused the fire.  About a month
later I noticed a fuel drip under my Tiico.  The leak was from the
nipple but was actually the fuel hose from the pressure regulator.  I
replaced it and decided to 'sleeve' the hose though the firewall and a
larger hose instead of fixing the nipple to the wall.  My reason:  the
tiico engine swings that fuel line more than the waterboxer and I
could see it tugging on the nipple too much.

I will be doing something about that block-off plug very soon but I
would conclude by saying that all Tiico customers should take their
fuel lines very seriously.  Maybe replace them all and certainly be
very aware of the firewall nipple and the pressure regulator block-off
plug.
