Hi Bill,

CARB stands for "California Air Resource Board", so it makes sense that you have nver had to deal with it. It seems that you will have to deal with similure rules in the future.

One of the rules does effect those of us who wish to replace engines. In CA a car/van is certified with an engine configuration. The car/van then is only approved with that configuration.

So If I were to put in an engine different from the one that CARB approved I would have to get a waver. It does not matter if the engine is more efficent and puts out less emmisions.

Keep in mind, we are idots and the government is here to help us.
