Subject: busdepot rebuilt heads?
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"

To those most worthy,

It's time I consult the infinite wisdom of the list. Quick recap: coolant rising problem, only at extended high rpms (highway) then came overheating, replaced thermostat, replaced expansion tank cap, rebled, burnt the snot out of my wrist, rebled, rebled, roadtested--head gasket fails for third time. shop that replaced the first two times swore by this "miracle black German sealant"..."have had no returns after using it on heads that were corroded), accept for mine, now claiming the head (only right side) must not be seating correctly (duh).

Now I know I need to replace the heads, shop will pick up labor, but I have to cover cost of parts....

Question is........What do you all know about the rebuilt heads from Bus Depot? (Bubbles is killing my pocket book, can't afford new ones)

and......how terrible would it be to replace only the side that failed just for a little while.......till I get more cash?

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Paul '91 GL (recently named Bubbles for obvious reasons)
