I had the same problem getting traction in my 82 Westy. Finally spent the bucks and got some huge Firestone slicks and aluminum wheel tubs. Some fine tuning with the wheelie bars and I'm putting more horsies to the pavement than ever before. 0-60 in half a minute seems about right ...
