Thanks for your experiment. I just passed smog with flying colors (no small matter for an '81 here in California) so now I can turn to the related (I think) of gas mileage and acceleration. Eleven mpg seems a bit low. I am investigating the transmission kickdown now. Doesn't seem to be one. By the way, the '64 Chevy pickup with the 350 small block and 350 TH tranny took 8.3 seconds to get to 60. Still have to get the '63 bug out. What fun!
