I've got a big ol' jar full of pennies, so here is another $.02......... The apparent fuel effieciency of the Tiico (22 vs 17 for me) has a lot to do with how much highway travel you do. The 1.9 I had was pretty well maxed out on the highway, needed a lot more gas to get the extra speed. Pedal to the floor. My Tiico, on the other hand, wants to go much faster. When travelling at 70 mph, around 4000 rpm, it is very happy and whispers to me "...pass this idiot... go...go...GO!!!!!". It will jump from 70 to 80 in a couple seconds. It is a lot less effort to keep that speed. At lower speeds, and lower rpm, it isn't a whole lot better than my original. Not a great power increase at 1000-2000 rpm. I was a little disappointed when I first drove the new engine, at low rpms, but when I got on the highway I started smiling and haven't stopped.
