The John Muir book has a good suggestion for this, but basically you have to get the socket (36mm I think), a prybar and a long pipe that you can extend the prybar with ( I use one that is about 3-4 feet long). Then you jump on it, shove it, whatever you can do to get it loose. Greg 86 Westy 73 Thing 99 Subaru Forester
I'm having a problem removing the nut on the rear axle of my Vanagon. Any suggestions? Gary
