Matt, you'll want to check the pump timing at some point (~0.88 mm.), and a compression check is in order. If the compression differs by more than 75 between cyls., you might have a few stuck rings. In that case, I would add a quart of ATF (auto. trans. fluid) and let its detergents "unstick" them and clean the combustion area of some deposits. After running a couple of these ATF fortified tanks through the engine, recheck the compression and compare your before and afters. Did they bill the renozzled/needled injectors as rebuilt or did they install new needle/nozzle ass'ys. without reshimming them to specs. (you want to know)? Buy and carry a spare fuel filter and check the air filter and replace if dirty. Keep your eye on the coolant temp. and your instincts sharpened to detect any overheating...the radiator may be atherosclerosized in which case you'll want to take steps to acid flush (citric), have it cleared, or replace with new or used. You want to insure that your rad. fan runs, if not, insure the switch works and get the fan to work. I know there is more but that is what I've got this time. -Dana- Matt Ratto wrote: > > Hi all, > > I just bought an '82 diesel Westfalia with 90,000 original miles.
