Why is it that you think all foreign manufactures are tryting to kill you. You're going to have to face the facts they just think their tires are better than Coopers. See if this helps any. Good info even if it doesn't help this time.

----------- FYI --------------------- here's what "The Pocket Ref"* has to say..."the code is XXYY MMM999. The XX is the manufacturer, the YY is the tire size. MMM is the optional tire code and the 999 is the date of manufacture. For more details request a copy of "Part 574 - Tire Code" from the U.S. Departmant of Transportation."

* an absolutely indispensible book from Sequoia Press. Don't leave home without it!

Jim Arnott List Admin WetWesties Union, OR ------------------------------------------- If the last group in the serial number is a total of 3, then the tire was made in 99 and back. Of the 3, the 1st 2 are the week, the last is the year. i.e. 269 = last week of June 1999. If the last group is 4 numbers, 1st 2 are week, 2nd 2 are year. Should be 00 or 01. ----------------------------------------- I'm sure that I've done this before, but I can't find it in the archives so...
