Hi Larry -

I am about 6" too tall to fit comfortably - given the allotted amount of cushion up there. I have tried to solve the shortage in the "loft" area by inserting a panel that is roughly the width of the cushions by about 8" tall. There is still a bit of an opening front to back so I can get my hand in there to remove it when I'm ready to hop down. Basically it rests on the ledges on either side of the opening. I bought some banting material and some fabric at a fabric store and made sort of a pillow/ cushion on the upper side to prop that end up a little. It looks pretty finished, and when I'm not using it I just slide it to the very rear of the loft and it stores in that back space pretty nicely. It has worked out very well.

When disembarking from up there I usually leave a cooler below the opening and use the sink ledge for a little help. It works for me...but then, I'm 6'3", so it's not too much of a stretch. Good luck and hope this helps!
