I don't like to wait more than 5000 miles to make the change to Mobil 1. ---------------------------- Thats just about the mileage (5000) I've got on my newly rebuilt 2000cc Type IV engine. It just seems to be running very strong and at all the right temperatures in even the most adverse conditions. The current oil change has almost 3000 miles on it and the dipstick is down an estimated 1/2 Quart, which I'm pleased with. I really don't see any problems arising from the switch but I know Air Cooled engines exhibit some particular characters involving heat, oil leaks, lifter noise etc. So I was just hoping that I might find the pitfalls before I jumped in.
