If somebody out there doesn't think an Air Cooled TypeIV isn't fully broke in at 5000 miles I'd like to hear your thoughts on the subject. The break in I followed was: 20 minutes at 2000 rpm.w/oil and filter change on completion 200 miles at or around 2000 rpm. w/oil and filter change on completion 250 miles at 260 degrees (f) and 5 bar + oil pressure, Oil bypass plunger was upside down and had a bur on it.w/oil and filter change on completion of repair. w/oil and filter change on completion of repair. 1000 miles at normal driving, about 60% at 65/70 mph, rest at city driving. w/oil and filter change on completion of repair. 3000 miles at normal driving, about 60% at 65/70 mph, rest at city driving........ this is where I'm at now.
