Over the years I've been cheated out of a few thousand dollars in rebates. If you track these rebates you'll see that you were cheated more often than you are aware of. I'm currently down $80.00 on rebates on computer monitors and CD drives from Best Buy.. Although most companies are honorable and eventually send your rebates many of the foreign manufactures marketing under American trade names just never intended to honor the rebates they offer. In most cases you can raid your files and take your receipt copy and copy of the rebate form that you mailed in and take it to the retailer that purchased the merchandise from. I've taken about $220.00 of rebate documentation to Fry's and they claim to have every penny of those rebates coming to me in the next ten days. I just wanted to post this information so you would know that you can do something about it. The consumer calling the manufacturer doesn't get the job done but when a major three million dollar distribution chain calls it gets results. Put it back on the retailer selling the product, he needs your business. So next time you want to complain about the price of VW parts you should check your rebate bank and collect enough to get the money you deserve. Remember its the law ............. if they promise they must deliver even if its just $2.00 My rebates amount to over $700.00 every year and I fight for them if necessary. I'd like to see every rebate paid or deducted at the cash register when you buy the products but that seems pretty unlikley without a Congressional Bill enforcing it.
