I use a small unit that sits in my luggage rack and blows in through the front poptop window. It creates a lot of water and if I'm not careful and angle it away from the window, the water will pour inside the van.

For your setup you may need to put a drain tray under it and a drain through the floor. The unit I have just drips off the back. The metal casing is not sealed, so the water will run out anywhere there is a hole or seam.

Your vent will also need to be large enough that it won't restrict the exhaust from the unit.
