Hi all, I am back to lurking after taking a break for a year. There is / was a Fisher price carseat that allowed the 5-point harness to go up to 60 lbs. I don't know if it is available still. The only carseat that goes beyond 40 lbs. with the 5-pt that I know of is the Britax Super Elite. It can be fastened into vehicles with lap-only belts in the back, and they get the 5-pt. harness. http://www.childseat.com/ (look under youth seat) We ordered ours from "The Toy House" in Michigan last year. It seems they somehow had them in stock even before the Britax distribution center in Charlotte had them. They are expensive and huge, but our 42 lb 3-year old seems too short and immature for the standard booster with the 3-point vehicle belt; and, we like the 5-point for our 7-year old too. Therefore, their daily driver Passat has two of these monsters in the back seat -- with tether straps. I am not sure if two of these seats side by side would fit in a Westy backseat or not. I would recommend fashioning a tether strap anchor point. Michael ---------- From: John Lauterbach <jhlauterbach@EMAIL.MSN.COM> To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM Subject: Toddler seat ?
