1982 Vanagon Diesel - 4 speed manual transmission Color: burnt orange and crème
Mileage: 128,000 - second owner Purchased in California 3 years ago, now located in northern Virginia List of new parts: Toyo 100,000 mile all season radial tires Gabriel gas charged shocks Ford truck diesel battery w/2 gauge cables - 900 cold cranking amps Waterpump Exhaust system Glow plugs Fuel injectors, oil filler tube and fuel lines Fuel filter and oil filter w/300 miles on oil change Blaupunct stereo/cassette with 4 speakers Noah car cover
Needs wheel covers and rear seats - I was intending to install a weekender package and recycled the original two rear seats. The rear is open and ready for customization, etc. The rest of the interior including headliner is okay but needs cleaning. I never did like the stock front seats and was going to upgrade them also. The interior is brown.
I use the vehicle to run around in locally. It consistently delivers about 32 mpg and about 28 mpg loaded with fishing or camping gear when cruising at about 60 on the Interstate. I do not drive it over 65 and change the oil regularly at 3000 mile intervals.
The Vanagon runs and looks great - there is very slight body damage just above the left rear wheel well where previous owner pulled into a parking space too sharply. I had the repairs estimated at a local body shop for about $300.
I have too many vehicles and hate to part with this one but will to a good home. You can see a couple photos at: www.user.shentel.net\vanman\vanagon.html (It really does look this nice!) No rust anywhere including the seams. I keep it waxed and covered and never drive it in the snow or salt.
Best offer to a good home. Drive it home (anywhere). |
