This is not optimal, but I installed a glass mount antenna. It has adhesive on the wired side, as well as the outside antenna mounting. It's not a great idea to mount an antenna on the side of a vehicle like that, but I didn't want to limit my garage access. I tried installing a gutter mount, but found that it interfered with the luggage rack or poptop depending on where I tried to locate it. Radio shack had gutter mounts that had a button you could press in that would allow you to put the antenna 90 degrees forward or back. I had one like that installed on my rabbit.. but if I recall correctly, I just couldn't get it mounted well on the westy..
