... why so many Vanagons have a rebuiklt engine. Before my Vanagon, my car was an '87 Golf GTI 8v, and after 130K miles, mostly city, and nasty canadian winters, it has yet to require anything close to a rebuilt engine. In fact, I had never heard of rebuilding an engine (I knew *about* it, that it was possible, but I had not heard of it done to any car I looked at) until now. Or does it only start around 150K??? Oh, and here's another one: what is it with the Vanagon gas indicator? Why does it move around so much and why does it indicate empty when I still have 3 gallons? Thanks, Philippe |
