Karl, Thanks for your advice. Might try the single weight approach. A local VW shop that has been around for many years said to stretch the relief spring and put a can of STP (yeah, I know) on top of the Mobil 1 15W-50. If no improvement after these steps then they recommend installing a pressure gauge to det. actual oil pressure after warmup. BTW, They have a 87 Westy with over 300k on the original engine. Looks junky enough inside and out to have that kind of mileage. Bill |
