"(you *can* reinstall the existing tie rod ends and skip the alignment if you're *really* careful about accurately measuring tie rod length before disassembly, but nothing eats tires faster than having the toe-in out of spec., so keep that in mind)." It is not necessary to measure (or alter) the tie rod length, if you remove the outer tie rod from the steering knuckle, before removing the inner tie rod from the steering rack. This assumes that the replacement steering rack is the same width as the original. Cary
