As much as I love to see a totally vintage and original bus at a show, I really enjoy seeing a well modified bus with lots of personal and practical mods. I think it is a wonderful representation of the individual who owns the bus. As for destroying the "orignal" status of the bus, that's relevant. For instance, I started out as a fully original, brand new baby human boy...one of the finest machines ever conceived. Yet, despite my best efforts, I have been altered in size, shape, and performance. We could never restore ourselves to our original splender, so we make lots and lots of mods instead. Haircuts, face lifts, butt tucks, implants, piercings, tats, etc. I figure, if it's alright to modify the human machine, it's ok to add a few thousand interior lights to my vanagon. hehe John '80 Vanagon L - German Sports Van
