Yeah it would be a great solution but the Archives has very little info on doing the wiring for this swap. Ive searched under "Instrument panel" "Tachometer" "RPM Guage" and Ive only found this bit of info which contradicts what most people are saying that the wiring is already there and just needs to be plugged in. See Below what was said:

("You need to run a wire from the + terminal of the coil up to the instrument panel. Use 14awg wire because of the length it has to run. Then you just need to get a ground from the instrument panel and you are ready to go. The + coil terminal will be the one that goes to the distributor.")

I plugged my new 84 Instrument panel w/Tach into my 84' instrument wiring harness(with noticably DIFFERENT wire arrangment in the plug) And the idiot light thats in the temperature guage starts blinking. I didnt even have the key turned on. Gas level Guage works tho.
