Right. You should never have more than 80% of the "water capacity" of the tank.

They're *supposed* to know that. However, they probably are expecting a much larger tank and it catches them by surprise -- so you have to make sure they open the bleed *before* starting the fill, and are ready to stop instantly when they see liquid. Warn them that it will be only three gallons at absolute most.

Often pretty hard. If you have the fridge out you can maybe optimize it. It's a Plexiglas rod looking at a little glass window in the combustion chamber.

Use soapy water or gas-leak detector to be sure. If you have the square Marshall Brass 260 regulator it's probably worn out by now, have to replace with the 290 which is longer (carefully bend the tubing to let it fit).
