You're crazy.

I say this as someone who has had an '87 Westy since it was new, followed the VW recommended maintenance schedule to the letter, bought quality replacement parts, practised preventative maintenance...and still found me, my family and the van at the side of the road more times than I deserved. Yes, I still have the van but it's only on the road for two months of the year now...less repairs that way.

Sorry to rain on everyone's parade but somewhere along the way, I lost my VW issue rose-coloured glasses.
