Help!

I did a (seemingly) successful A/C system removal on my 87 GL. I was very careful, and did not cut anything, except the wires in the engine compartment to the compressor, and the side rail fuses relays etc. (and the A/C lines to the front evaporator grill).

I pulled the A/C wires up to the front through their wiring canal... and through the firewall and noticed where they connected in the fuse box and surrounding area. I marked the wires, and then snipped them.

Now, and it may be a coincidence, I notice that my radiator fan does not turn on... ever. I know that the temp is hot enough because I drove all over, and got the system good and hot for about 15 minutes (mostly 3rd gear, high revs) and returned home. I let it idle in the driveway for another 5-6 minutes... no fan.

The temp does creep up in this situation, and it was almost at the position where the red temp light would begin to flash, when I turned it off... I figured that upon shutting the engine off, the radiator water would certainly be hot enough to get the fan going... no dice.

My question..... There was a Red wire with a thin Blue stripe which was one of the A/C wires I removed. There is a Red wire, with a thin Blue stripe attached to the Thermo switch for the radiator fan on the front...

I am wondering whether I should have been paying more attention to the components that are related to the A/C system when I removed it, and if it is possible that I have killed my radiator fan in the process.

Any help/advice will be appreciated!
