First I upgraded to Polk Ex4 (4") speakers. This was a drop in replacement. Then I upgraded to Polk Ex5 (%.25") speakers - this required opening up the holes in the doors. I'm happy with them.

Note - I specifically picked the Polk speakers because the grills did not stick out far enough to touch the dashboard. Definately something to consider when replacing the factory speakers.
