Interestingly enough, I just visitied a 'VW fan' forum. This forum was perdominantly for air-cooled fanatics and a few threads were dedicated to the hate of the current, or newer, Volkswagens. It's amazing, since most of these self-qualified experts haven't driven a brand-new VW. Granted, some of the posts were fueled by VWoA's recent crack-down on their copyrigthed VW logo and name. They seem to miss the fact that VW has made tremendous strides in built quality and chassis integrity. Their cars are now emerging above what used to be their main competitors, such as Honda and Toyota, and soon will be on the level of BMW, Lexus and Infiniti. It's no wonder GM is taking notice since VW may soon be in a position to surpass them in the global car manufacturer rankings.
